A man has been charged with assault and shoplifting following an incident in Fleet.
Officers received reports that a man had attempted to steal wine from Morrisons on Fleet Road.
A woman was pushed to floor before the man left the store with one bottle of wine at around 7am on Saturday 17 August.
John Edward Dorey, 52, of Church Grove, Fleet, has been charged with assault by beating and theft from a shop.
He has also been charged with using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour to cause harassment / alarm / distress.
Dorey has been bailed with conditions and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 3 September.
