A man is due to appear in court tomorrow after being charged with assaulting police officers who were investigating reports of disorder at a protest in Aldershot.
Officers were carrying out routine enquiries at Potters International Hotel in Aldershot on Saturday 3 August and were assaulted by a man. One officer had to go to hospital with a minor injury.
This incident came just days after reported disorder at a protest outside the same hotel.
Steven Tiquin, 40, Grosvenor Road, Aldershot, has been charged with three counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
Tiquin is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday 13 August, where he will also face an additional charge of assaulting an emergency worker, affray and a racially aggravated public order offence, following postal requisition.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old girl from Aldershot, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday 13 August to face a charge of violent disorder, following postal requisition.
It comes after reports of disorder at a protest outside Potters International Hotel on Wednesday 31 July.
Seven men have already been charged in connection with this incident and are due to appear at the same court tomorrow.
