Man, 28, and woman, 48, arrested after officers find drugs during proactive stop in Basingstoke

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following a proactive stop in Basingstoke last night.

At around 11.15pm on Thursday 8 August, officers spotted suspicious activity near a car on Attwood Close.

Officers later stopped a car on Worting Road and carried out a search. They found and seized suspected Class A drugs, mobile phones and cash.

A 28-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both from Basingstoke, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

They remain in custody while our enquiries continue.
