A man has been arrested after tools were stolen from a van in Aldershot last night.
At around 10.45pm on Thursday 8 August, officers were called to a report that a Ford van had been broken into on Russet Glade.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a Mercedes car which was said to have been in the area at the time of the incident.
The vehicle failed to stop on Wellington Avenue and later hit a lamppost before crashing into a bush near Farnborough Road.
A group of men exited the vehicle and ran into the woods.
A dog unit was deployed to the scene and officers located one of the men, who was arrested at the scene.
Officers searched the Mercedes and located different number plates, multiple tools, drills and crow bars. They also recovered the stolen items from Russet Glade.
A 21-year-old man from Hillingdon has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and going equipped for theft of a motor vehicle.
He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
