Two men have been charged following a robbery in Hoglands Park over the weekend.
In the early hours of Saturday (27 April), at approximately 12.10am, it was reported that a 19-year-old man was walking home with friends via the park when a group unknown to them approached them.
A man from the group took the victim’s phone and he was kicked, punched and threatened with a knife.
A man in his 20s and a 19-year-old woman also sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Officers attended and searched the area, locating and arresting two men on Above Bar Street around ten minutes later.
Ahmed Al Jarad, 20, of Boscombe Spa Road in Bournemouth, has been charged with robbery and three counts of assault.
Soulaymen Fattoum, 19, of Highfield Lane in Southampton, has been charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, two counts of assault and two counts of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both men have been remanded into custody and will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court today (Monday 29 April).
