A man has been charged after attempting to break into a house and trying to steal a van in the Swaythling area of Southampton.
Police received several calls on Sunday afternoon (31 March) about a man acting suspiciously on Woodcote Road.
It was reported that the man had entered someone’s garden causing damage to their garage, before attempting to steal a van.
Officers attended and arrested a man nearby.
Dritan Kaleshi, 29, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with attempted burglary, attempted theft of a motor vehicle and criminal damage. He has been remanded into custody and is next due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on Friday 3 May.
