A man has been charged in connection with an assault in Newport.
Police were called at 7.55pm on 21 September to an address on West Street with reports that a man had been assaulted with a fork, suffering injuries to his jaw and neck area.
Following enquiries, Jack Taylor, aged 26, of Barton Road in Newport, was charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 25 September).
At the hearing, he was further remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Crown Court on 26 October.
