Officers investigating a number of shoplifting reports in Farnborough and Yateley have charged two men and a woman.
The cases are separate and not linked. All three are due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (18 October).
Jamie McCaul, 42, from Reading Road, Farnborough, has been charged with theft from a shop x 10, assault by beating x 3 and using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of / provoke unlawful violence.
It comes after officers received reports that items had been stolen from various stores in Farnborough and Yateley between June and October this year.
The total value of items reported stolen was more than £4,000.
And on 5 August, officers received a report that a man was assaulted in Farnborough. We also received a report that a man was assaulted in Yateley on 30 August.
Officers have also charged another man with shoplifting in Farnborough.
Joshua Bone, 40, from Godstone Road, Whyteleafe, Surrey, has been charged with four counts of theft from a shop.
It comes after officers received reports that items worth more than £430 were stolen from Asda, Sainsbury’s, Dunelm and BP in the town.
Meanwhile, a woman has been charged with shoplifting and assault in Farnborough.
Isobel Hughes, 28, from Sand Hill, Farnborough, has been charged with three counts of theft from a shop and two counts of assault by beating.
It comes after officers received reports that items worth more than £300 were stolen from the Co-Op store on Fernhill Road and Chapel Pharmacy on Chapel Lane in October.
Officers also received reports that two men were assaulted in Farnborough on 11 October.
The trio are due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today.
