A Southampton man has been charged with a string of shoplifting offences following incidents at a number of stores in the city.
Dylan James David, 25, of Garnock Road, was charged on Wednesday (25 October) with eight counts of theft, one count of fraud by false representation and one count ofhandling stolen goods in relation to eight incidents which took place in Southampton last month (September 2023):
· On September 18th and September 21st alcohol and clothing worth £340 were taken from the Sainsbury’s store on Tollbar Way in Hedge End.
· On September 12th £127 worth of meat and cleaning products were taken from the Morrison’s store on Montague Avenue.
· On September 18th, 19th, 24th and 25th, £156 worth of cleaning products, £32 worth of coffee, £58 worth of dairy products and £56 worth of various other items were taken from the One Stop store on Butts Road.
· On September 28th, a woman in her 30s had a phone and bank card stolen from Hilldene Community Centre. Her bank card was later used.
Officers investigating this series of incidents have now charged David. He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday 26 October) where he was remanded into custody to appear at the same court on November 16th.
