Man charged with theft, assault and damage incidents in Gosport

A man’s been charged with a number of offences in Gosport including shoplifting, assault and criminal damage.

Sam Hook, aged 38, of no fixed abode, was charged yesterday (Tuesday 7 November) with the following offences:

• Possession of a knife in a public place on 2 November 2022, in Varos Close, Gosport.
• Theft of toiletries from Savers on Gosport High Street on 30 October this year.
• Common assault at One Stop in Beauchamp Avenue, Gosport, on 4 November this year.
• Criminal damage at One Stop in Beauchamp Avenue, Gosport, on 4 November this year.
• Criminal damage to a police cell on 6 November this year.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today.
