Officers investigating a series of suspicious incidents in the Portswood area of Southampton have now charged a man.
Mamadou Sadio Diallo, 31, of Mayfair Drive in Newbury, has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of possessing a sharp pointed article in a public place.
The charges come after we were made aware of three sightings overnight on Monday 13 November into Tuesday 14 November of a man acting in a suspicious manner. It was reported on a number of these occasions that a man had been seen holding a pair of scissors acting in a verbally abusive manner.
Throughout the course of our enquiries we were aware of further incidents between Thursday 9 November and Monday 13 November.
No-one has reported any injuries as a result of these incidents.
Diallo is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 17 November).
