A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Sandown.
Police were called at around 5pm on Sunday 5 November with reports that a man in his 40s had been punched, kicked and stamped on, in the High Street.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries, but these are not deemed life-threatening.
Officers attended and conducted a search before arresting a man nearby in Queens Road.
Following enquiries, 35-year-old Kevin Lee Williams, of Osborne Road in Shanklin, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (7 November).
At the hearing, he was further remanded to appear at Isle of Wight Crown Court on 6 December.
