A man has been charged with assault and attempted shoplifting following an incident in Aldershot.
At 2.51pm on Friday 3 November, officers were called to Lidl in the Wellington Centre to reports that a man had been assaulted and threatened after a man had attempted to steal alcohol.
Officers attended the scene and made an arrest.
Kieran Dearden, 21, from Beech Hill, Headley Down, has been charged with assault by beating, attempted theft from a shop and using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He pleaded guilty to the offences at Southampton Magistrates Court today (4 November).
Dearden is next due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday 7 November.
