Further arrests made following the serious assault of a man in Southampton

Officers investigating the serious assault of a man in Southampton last Thursday (26 October) have made a number of further arrests as their enquiries continue:

• A 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy, both from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody at the current time.
• An 11-year-old boy from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and attempted murder. He has been released from custody on conditional police bail to allow for further enquiries to continue.
• A 38-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released from police custody on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
• A 45-year-old woman from Southampton arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and attempted murder. She remains in custody at the current time.
• A 38-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

We previously arrested a 64-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of assisting an offender, a 13-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of attempted murder and a second 13-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of assault. They have been released from police custody on conditional bail, pending further enquiries.

The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained stab wounds during an assault in Laburnum Road.

He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

Our investigation into this incident is continuing and local neighbourhood officers are patrolling locally throughout this week.
