A man has been arrested and charged as part of an investigation into the theft of a motor vehicle in Basingstoke.
Nigel Charles Withers, 58, of Sussex Street, Winchester has been charged with burglary other than dwelling and theft of a motor vehicle.
Officers from Winchester’s High Harm Team made the arrest in the city on Thursday 9 March.
He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Friday 10 March and has been remanded to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 31 March.
The charges relate to an incident on Thursday 2 March, in which a set of car keys was stolen from a building in Alencon Link, Basingstoke. An Audi TT Quattro car was then stolen from the same road. It has since been recovered in Winchester.
