Officers completing a positive stop and search in Eastleigh town centre have arrested a teenager for a number of offences.
It comes after officers were responding to report of anti-social behaviour in Eastleigh town centre between 7pm and 7.50pm on Friday 29 July.
A large group of young people had been reportedly causing issues within the local community – including shoplifting - and as a result, a 16-year-old boy was stopped and detained for a search by officers on Wells Place.
A quantity of Class B drugs were located and seized from the teenager. However, it is alleged that the boy then became agitated towards officers and reportedly smashing a shop window.
A 16-year-old boy from Chandler’s Ford was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and possession of a Class B drug.
He was later released on conditional bail – including conditions not to enter Eastleigh town centre – until 29 October.
