Officers investigating a burglary in the Totton area yesterday have arrested a teenage boy in connection with the incident.
It comes after reports that a bike shed and bin storage area were accessed by two men on Lakeside Way in Calmore at around 4.40pm.
An electric bike and a Segway were reportedly taken from the bike shed.
A member of the public challenged one of the men as they fled the scene across King George Recreational Ground; at which point it is alleged that the member of the public was threatened with an offensive weapon.
The two men they fled the scene.
Police enquiries identified a 17-year-old boy from Totton, who has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal and threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place.
He remains in custody at this time.
