Three men have been arrested following an incident near Stockbridge in which the rear windscreen of a moving car was smashed.
We were called at 6.07pm on Sunday 22 January to a report of an incident that took place when the victim was driving in the Houghton area.
The driver stopped and a ball bearing was later found in the vehicle.
Officers attended and later stopped two vehicles seen at a petrol station in Greatbridge Road, Romsey.
A catapult was found in one of the vehicles.
A 28-year-old man from Titchfield, a 26-year-old man from Fareham and a 25-year-old man from Hythe were all arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. They have been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
Officers are also investigating a report of an incident which took place sometime between 6.30pm and 7pm on the same evening.
A rear passenger window of a car was smashed as it was being driven in Southampton Road, Romsey. A ball bearing was later found in the car.
The two incidents are being treated as linked. Enquiries are ongoing.
