A second man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Basingstoke.
At 11.41pm on Wednesday, 1 February we were called to a playing field on Tewkesbury Close in Popley after a 19-year-old man sustained what is believed to be three gun-shot wounds to his leg.
The victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. He remains in hospital at this time.
An 18-year-old man from Basingstoke was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been questioned by officers and released on police bail with conditions.
Officers have now arrested a second man, aged 21, from Basingstoke on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody at this time.
Enquiries are ongoing and we continue to appeal for information in relation to this incident.
