Officers investigating a series of theft from vehicles and burglaries reported in Liphook overnight between Monday (30 January) and Tuesday (31 January) have now made an arrest.
A 14-year-old boy from Havant has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including burglary, theft from motor vehicle and vehicle interference.
He has been released from police custody but remains on conditional bail while our enquiries continue. The arrest comes as part of an ongoing investigation into the following incidents:
It was reported that at approximately 1.10am entry was gained to a garage at an address on Canada Way and two bikes were taken along with various other items. The bikes were later recovered.
It was also reported at approximately 2.50am that entry was gained to a property on Tunbridge Crescent and a wallet was taken. Car keys were also taken and used to steal a car parked outside.
We also received four reports of theft from motor vehicles on Heron Way, two reports on Lark Rise, and further reports from the below locations:
In each case, entry was gained to parked vehicles and various items were stolen.
We are continuing to investigate all incidents reported to us, and officers will be in the affected areas carrying out enquiries and increased patrols. Anyone with concerns or questions is asked to please approach them.
We are still keen to hear from anyone who lives locally who we have not yet spoken to who has information that may assist our enquiries. Perhaps you have Ring Doorbell or Dashcam footage from the area at the time?
We appreciate that these incidents took place in the early hours of the morning, but if anyone heard or saw anything suspicious then we would also like to hear from them.
