A man was arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences following a successful stop check in Southampton yesterday afternoon (24 August).
It comes after officers from Southampton’s High Harm team observed suspicious activity on Cambridge Road just after 3pm, leading to suspicions that drugs were being supplied in the area.
Two men, and the vehicle they were travelling in, where searched but nothing was located.
However, officers received further information in relation to a person of interest who was on Lodge Road at the time. A 53-year-old man was detained for the purpose of a search under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act, with officers locating a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs.
A search of a nearby address also located a number of mobile devices which were seized as a result.
The 53-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
He remain in custody at this time.
