Three people have been arrested for drugs offences in Southampton following a police search.
On Thursday (1 September), at around 9.45am, an officer on patrol around Itchen View saw a parked car with three people inside, one of whom appeared to be rolling a cannabis joint.
The officer searched the vehicle and the occupants and found packages of a white substance in the front passenger footwell.
He called for assistance and officers continued the search, discovering a further 67 packages of white and dark brown substances.
These were seized along with other items including mobile phones, drug paraphernalia, and a black crowbar.
A 36-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of a controlled Class B drug. He was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
He was also arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and attempted theft from a shop in connection to an earlier incident on 21 July. He was bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 27 October.
A 43-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman from Southampton were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
They were released under investigation while enquiries continue.
