It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of our Sovereign, Queen Elizabeth the Second.
Her Majesty the Queen gave a lifetime of service as our longest reigning Monarch and on behalf of the whole Hampshire Constabulary police family, we send our condolences to the Royal Family at this very sad time.
Policing serves the Crown and, as such, we have a strong affinity with the Royal Family, making this a very sombre time for us all within the force.
Our flags will be flying at half mast as a sign of respect as we enter this period of national mourning.
We will take this time to reflect on her dedication to our nation and how, particularly during times of great uncertainty, she inspired unity and compassion.
We know that this sad news will affect many people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and we urge anyone who is feeling particularly upset to seek support from one of the many agencies who can provide a listening ear or advice.
We are now preparing to support our communities over the coming days as we come together to remember Her Majesty and mark this historic moment in time.
