A Southampton man has been convicted of racially aggravated assault and a number of public order offences during an incident on Saturday 10 September.
Levi Allan, aged 22, of Coxford Road in Southampton appeared at Southampton Crown Court today (Monday 3 October) having previously been charged with malicious communications after making abusive and threatening calls to the 999 service, racially aggravated assault by beating, assault by beating, affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
It comes after officers were called to a property on Coxford Road just after 10am on Saturday 10 September following reports that a postman had been racially assaulted.
The court also heard that upon police attendance, Levi Allan was seen to be causing criminal damage inside a property whilst in possession of a meat cleaver.
Allan has previously pleaded guilty to affray, racially aggravated assault and malicious communications at a hearing on Monday 12 September.
Appearing at Southampton Crown Court today (3 October), Levi Allan received a 10 month custodial sentence - suspended for 18 months, ordered to completed 250 hours unpaid work, attend 20 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement as well as pay statutory costs.
