A 20-year-old man from Portsmouth has been charged in connection with an investigation into Class A drugs supply in the city.
Sheib Miah, of St Mary’s Road, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
At approximately 7.30pm on Friday 14 October Miah was seen by patrolling officers with what was suspected to be a phone linked to Class A drugs supply in Portsmouth.
A search of a nearby property under Section 18 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act revealed drugs paraphernalia and several knives.
Miah was also charged with two counts of threats to kill in connection with a second incident on September 23 in Portsmouth.
He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday 10 October) where he was remanded into custody. He will next appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday 21 November.
A 21-year-old man from Portsmouth has also been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place in connection with this incident. He has been released from police custody but remains under investigation while our enquiries continue.
