A man has been charged following an incident on Winchester High Street yesterday, Sunday, 9 October.
Christopher Peake, aged 41 of Christchurch Road, Winchester has been charged with causing racially aggravated intentional harassment /alarm / distress, assault by beating, common assault of an emergency worker and criminal damage.
The charges come after a man reportedly damaged items and assaulted a member of staff in Boots on the High Street.
The man then became racially abusive towards members of the public on the High Street and assaulted a PCSO whilst he was being detained.
Peake appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday, 10 October) and has been remanded to next appear at the same court centre on Monday, 31 October.
