A man has been charged with offences following incidents in Fareham over the weekend.
It’s alleged that on Saturday 26 November, a man in Tesco on Quay Street assaulted a member of Tesco staff and security staff. Police were told that the victims had tried to stop the man from leaving the store with some food and drink that had allegedly not been paid for.
Officers attended and arrested 28-year-old Matthew York, who was subsequently charged with the following:
York, of Gosport Road in Fareham, was bailed with conditions to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on 12 December.
