Man charged following assault and public order incident in Southampton

Officers investigating an assault in Southampton city centre have since charged a man in connection with the incident.

It comes after a man was reportedly assaulted during an incident on London Road at around 2pm on Monday 21 November.

Andrzej Sawko, aged 36 of no fixed abode has been charged with common assault, assault by beating an emergency worker, possession of a Class B drug, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and criminal damage.

Appearing at court yesterday (22 November) he was released on bail and is due to next appear at Southampton Magistrates court on Thursday 22 December.
