Officers investigating a fail to stop collision in Southampton have arrested two people.
We were called at 12.13am this morning, Sunday, 8 May, to reports that a car travelling on Commercial Road had collided with a cyclist.
The cyclist, a 17-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The car, a blue Ford Kuga, did not remain at the scene.
A man, aged 24 and a woman aged 23, both from Rownhams, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.
They remain in custody at this time.
Officers investigating are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or perhaps captured the incident and the car involved on dash-cam.
Perhaps you are a taxi driver who happened to be in the area at the time? Do you have any dash-cam footage?
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44220180333.
