A man has been arrested by police while breaking into a van in Southampton.
At 12.53am this morning (6 May), we received a report that a man could be seen on CCTV breaking into a white van in Dorset Street with a large metal pole.
We sent officers to the scene and who quickly spotted the man’s feet dangling out of the back of the van.
The 39-year-old from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and remains in police custody at this time.
The pole was also seized.
