Officers on routine patrol in Eastleigh yesterday (28 July) have arrested a man on suspicion of drug-supply offences.
It comes after a man was witnessed to be acting suspiciously by officers at around 5.45pm yesterday (28 July), and in walking by them, they noted a strong smell of cannabis.
The man was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act in which a quantity of suspected Class A drugs, a quantity of Class B drugs, a quantity of cash as well as a number of mobile devices. These were all seized as a result.
A 22-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs.
Whilst waiting to be transported to custody, it is alleged that the man flicked a cigarette at one of the officers - he was further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.
He remains in custody at this time.
