A man from Southampton has been arrested following a stabbing in London Road yesterday (6 July).
At 5.55pm, we were called to Parsonage Road following a report of concern for the welfare of a man at an address there.
We attended to ensure the safety of the man and the members of the public nearby.
At 10.30pm, the man, aged 31 from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
This was in connection with an incident in London Road that morning.
We were called at 9.55am yesterday to a report that a man had been stabbed.
The man, in his 30s, sustained puncture wounds and was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains there at this time.
The arrested man remains in police custody at this time and enquiries continue.
