Man charged following assault of girl in Southampton

A man has been charged in connection with the assault of a girl in Southampton.
On Wednesday (26 January) we received a report of a man assaulting a girl in her late teens at around 10pm that day on Southampton Common.
Charlie Philpott, 18, from Shirley Road, Southampton, was charged with assaulting a person causing actual bodily harm.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (28 January).
