A 28-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after he fled from officers in the Holbury area.
It comes after officers were conducting routine patrols just before midday yesterday (19 Jan) in Holbury and noticed a suspicious vehicle on Faircross Close and approached it. A man exited the vehicle as if to speak with officers before driving off at speed.
He later decamped at the end of the road and an area search was conducted by officers to locate the man; finding him a short distance away on Roewood Close.
A search was conducted by officers who located a quantity of Class A, a quantity of Class B drugs and a quantity of cash – all of which was seized for evidential purposes.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
He was released on conditional bail until Wednesday 16 February, pending further police enquiries.
