We have charged a man following an assault in Sedgley Close, Portsmouth, on Sunday 27 July.
It was reported to us that the victim, a 30-year-old man, was washing his car when we was approached, threatened and assaulted by a man, leaving him with a minor head injury.
A second man searched the victim’s car before the two men left.
We have now charged Tobias Maylott, 27, of Wynton Way, Fareham, with attempted robbery, affray, assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 24 August).
