Man jailed for 12 months after admitting two attempted burglaries in Southampton

A 34-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 months in jail after admitting two attempted burglary charges in Southampton.

Damon Dixon, from Millbrook Road West, Southampton appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Wednesday 8 September, and pleaded guilty to two charges of attempted burglary at a commercial premises in Southampton.  

The court heard that on Thursday, 12 August and Sunday, 22 August, Dixon approached Sugarflick in Bedford Place and on both occasions, attempted to gain entry by trying the door and attempting to prise open a window. 

The incidents were reported to the police and Dixon was identified by officers from footage captured on CCTV.

Dixon was sentenced to 6 months in jail for each charge, making it a total of 12 months in jail and further recalled to prison for his failure to comply with the conditions of his licenced release from prison for previous offences.
