A 36-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences following an incident at an off licence in Southampton.
Darrel Charlery of Suffolk Avenue, Southampton, has been charged with attempted theft from a shop, common assault, assault by beating of an emergency worker, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence and criminal damage.
The charges come following an incident at the Hops and Grapes off-licence on Shirley Road at around 9pm on Friday, 10 September.
A man assaulted a member of staff whilst making threats of violence after attempting to steal two bottles of alcohol from the store.
A PCSO attended and was assaulted during the incident.
Charlery was released on conditional bail until Thursday, 7 October, when he will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court.
