A 56-year-old man from Shanklin was arrested and charged yesterday (30 September) under a European Arrest Warrant after returning to the UK from overseas.
Henry Thomas Henderson, of The Rogers in Shanklin, was charged with kidnap and wounding with intent in relation to an assault which took place between 11.30pm and midnight on Tuesday 22 November 2016, on Newport Street in Ryde.
Henderson was also charged with eight further offences relating to a drugs supply investigation. These are four counts of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply, two counts of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply, and two counts of possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 1 October).
