Officers investigating reports of a public order incident and assault in Bursledon have arrested a woman.
It comes after police were deployed to Pylands skate park after it was reported by members of the public that a woman had become abusive towards local residents.
Upon arrival, officers located a woman walking away from the skate park along Hamble Road who matched the description given and a search was conducted. A dog chain was located on her, but no dog in sight.
While detaining the woman, a number of claims were made in relation to assaults by the woman on those in the immediate area.
As a result, a 41-year-old woman from Eastleigh was arrested on suspicion of common assault, possession of an offensive weapon and using threatening abusive or insulting words with intent to cause harm and / or distress.
She remains in custody at this time.
