A Southampton man appeared in court yesterday morning, Thursday 20 May, charged with robbery and drugs offences following an investigation by officers from Southampton’s Proactive Team.
The charges come after it was reported that at around 5.30pm on Saturday, 17 April, two men approached an 18-year-old man in Broad Green, Southampton, and took items from the boot of his car, whilst making threats. One of the men then allegedly displayed a knife from the waistband of his trousers whilst walking off. Four pairs of shoes and a bag was stolen.
On Wednesday, 19 May, officers carried out a warrant at an address in Dean Road, Southampton. During the search officers located a quantity of cannabis and items associated with drug dealing.
Iaos Zammit, 19, of Dean Road, Southampton has been charged with robbery, being concerned in the supply Class A drugs - heroin and crack cocaine and possession of Class B drugs - cannabis.
Zammit appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (20 May) where he was remanded to next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Friday,18 June.
