Two men charged following assault in Southampton

Officers have charged two men following an assault in Southampton.

We were called at 5.41pm on Friday, 26 February to an incident where it is alleged that a man in his 40’s sustained facial injuries after he was assaulted by two men inside an address in Clovelly Road.

Mujhid Khan, 32, of Butts Road, Southampton was initially arrested on Saturday, 27 February and subsequently charged with Section 20 grievous bodily harm.

He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 1 March and was remanded to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 29 March.

Yesterday, Sunday 7 March, officers charged a second man in connection with the incident. 

Sher Mohammad Hajizada, aged 29, of no fixed abode, was charged with Section 20 grievous bodily harm.

Hajizada was remanded to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 8 March.
