Officers investigating a burglary in the Lyndhurst area have charged a man.
The charges come after a member of the public reported a man acting suspiciously in the early hours of Sunday 11 July behind properties on Foldsgate Close, Lyndhurst.
Dean Riddett, aged 52, of Paynes Road, Southampton has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and common assault of an emergency worker.
He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Friday 13 August.
