Police officers, who conducted a proactive stop search of a speeding vehicle in New Milton, have arrested a man in connection with drug supply offences.
A silver Vauxhall Corsa was stopped just before midnight on Tuesday 28 December after officers spotted the vehicle travelling in excess of the speed limit along Caird Avenue.
The driver, a 34-year-old man from Beaulieu, failed a drugs wipe for a Class A drug and was arrested on suspicion for driving under the influence of drugs.
A search of the vehicle by officers located a quantity of Class A drugs and a quantity of cash – which were seized along with a mobile phone.
He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
He remains in custody at this time.
