A man has appeared in court after officers successfully seized a large quantity of cannabis from a vehicle.
Officers from the Road Policing Unit stopped a Vauxhall Vivaro van on the A339 in between Basingstoke and Newbury and found 42.5kg of herbal cannabis.
They later discovered £29,600 in cash inside the vehicle on Friday 30 July.
Andrew King, 39, was arrested at the scene and appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday 2 August charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B.
He is also charged with acquiring, using or having possession of criminal property.
King, from Bridge Way, Whitton, Twickenham, South West London, was remanded in custody, and is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday 1 September.
