Officers investigating an incident in Alton that has left a man in a critical condition in hospital have made an arrest.
The incident happened just after midnight (26 July), on the High Street, Alton, close to the Vodafone store.
Following an altercation, a 24-year-old man was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries.
A 25-year-old man from Alton has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.
He remains in police custody at this time.
