Officers responding to a request for support from South Central Ambulance Service in Lymington have charged a man.
The charges come after ambulance staff were threatened with a baseball bat and a metal pole at around 2pm on Wednesday 2 December on Lymore Lane.
Paul Mapes, aged 49, of Highfield Avenue, Lymington has been charged with one count of possession of an offensive weapon, one count of assaulting an emergency service worker and one count of possession of a Class A drug.
He remains in custody at this time.
