Officers investigating a theft from an Asda supermarket in Totton have charged a man.
At around 1.10 pm on Sunday 9 August, a man attempted to commit a high value theft from the Asda supermarket on Maynard Road but was stopped by staff and the property was recovered.
He was identified as a result of police enquiries and was arrested by officers from the Totton Neighbourhoods team on 14 August.
Michael Bryn Shanley, 32, of Andrews Close, Totton was charged with theft.
He appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Saturday 15 August where he was released on conditional bail and due to re-appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday 26 August.
