We are now in a position to name the man who was found in the water at Riverside Park.
Sol Hemy, aged 20-years-old, from Sholing, Southampton was found in the water at Riverside Park shortly after 6.30am on Thursday 5 September.
His body was discovered after an incident in River Walk where gun shots were heard.
Sol did not suffer any gunshot wounds and detectives are currently treating his death as unexplained.
Sol’s family has released a picture of Sol to pay tribute to him.
They would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness, however due to the exceptional circumstances they find themselves in, they ask for privacy and time to grieve.
They have also said they support the police investigation and urge anyone with information about what happened to Sol to contact the police.
Detectives continue to appeal for information regarding these events on September 5.
