We are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted in Basingstoke.
Officers received a report that a woman in her 30s was assaulted by a man near the junction of Grampian Way and Buckskin Lane at around 4.45am on Sunday 23 February.
It was reported that the woman saw two men unknown to her who were walking on the other side of the road. She asked them if they had seen someone she was looking for.
One of the men then approached the woman and grabbed her by the neck and pinned her to the ground. She suffered pain in her neck as a result of the incident.
The man has been described as being white, aged approximately in his 30s or 40s, around 5ft 6ins tall, of broad build, with short shaved brown hair. He was wearing a beige hoodie and dark coloured trousers.
Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries, and would like to appeal for any witnesses to come forward who may have information which could help our enquiries.
Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness the incident? Do you have any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV images which could help our enquiries?
Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting 44250081957.
