We are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a report of a public order incident involving a group of people in Andover town centre.
We were called at 6.59pm on Tuesday 3 September to a report that an incident involving around ten people was taking place in High Street.
Officers attended. Three victims came forward to say they had been assaulted by a group of people.
Two of the victims – a man in his 40s and a man in his 20s – sustained minor facial injuries. A third person, a 16-year-old boy, who was riding past on a moped at the time and was hit on his motorcycle helmet, was not injured.
Two arrests have been made in connection with this incident.
A 31-year-old man from Andover has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
A 16-year-old boy from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of affray, assault by beating, criminal damage and a public order offence.
Both people are currently in police custody.
Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of what took place.
We know that there would have been people in the High Street/Bridge Street area at this time who potentially would have witnessed this incident.
